Bungunyan apartment

We are now in our third home away from home , last week we stayed at the most unbelievable apartment! Hi Lisa and Kees. Lisa and Kees have done the most incredible job making these apartment villas really welcoming and homey. They are completely furnished! Here are the bedrooms…

The living rooms-one downstairs, one upstairs – with a pull out couch for Essie.

The bathrooms are beautiful and so amazingly clean!

And then the dining room. I think this may be where we spent the bulk of our time playing games, doing puzzles, and eating! 

The kitchen….

was absolutey beyond anything we hoped for and allowed us to create lots of yummy meals.  They had all the cookware, dishes, utensils and appliances we needed… even a crock pot! Here is Essie making her very first batch of homemade chicken and dumpling. They turned out great.  

The outside is much more beautiful than the picture shows… 

the landscaping was just beautiful, even in the winter.  There was a patio our back with a barbecue (not called a grill) and even a little clothes line.  There was also a cute little washer and dryer (which were running almost all the time, as we could only do about 3 pair of jeans at a time. )

And just in case you think we are not having character buildings, and the rejoicing is always easy….. this happened.- YIKES! Lisa and Kees were very kind! It is now fixed and no one bled. I think a game of hide and seek and someone trying to get under the bed caused the problem. Oops!

As we move across this great country, we will keep you updated on our progress!

Went to 'town'

We walked about 20 minutes into town… stopped in at the mall,

Cole's is a grocery store- right in the middle of the mall!

We, of course, had a latte, a hot chocolate and some yummy cakes...








We went to the cinema- if you say ‘Movie Theater’ they don’t have any idea what you are talking about, and if you go to the 9:45 a.m. showing... it is a private showing! Totally Fun!


We tried to figure out how to pay for a train ride (evidently, they are in midst of changing thier rail system here in the Melbourne Metro area), so that had to wait for another day… the sign with directions about how to drive there was even a little confusing.



We stopped in a pet shop just for fun. They do love their dog here. Some people take their dogs everywhere, even to the coffee shops and such.


We did a bit of window shopping…



Notice the Chemist shop... not a pharmacy!   


Lots of reminders of folks we love... silk yarn from Nepal- for our knitting friends.

We miss you all very much!



And then the crossing guard ladies helped us across the street and we headed 'home'!
